Wesley Bedja makes first-class debut for Western Province

Seamer Wesley Bedja was named in Western Province’s XI for this week’s 4-Day Domestic Series match against North West at Newlands in Cape Town on Thursday.

Bedja represents Green Point Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association premier league – and has been playing for Western Province Colts recently.

Seamer Beuran Hendricks is captaining Western Province in the absence of wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne, who is with the Proteas for this month’s ODI series against India.

Western Province seamer Nandre Burger, batsman Tony de Zorzi and all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana are also with the Proteas.
