Seamer Wesley Bedja has been named in Western Province’s squad for this week’s 4-Day Domestic Series fixture against North West at Newlands in Cape Town.
Bedja represents Green Point Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association premier league – and has been playing for Western Province Colts recently.
Western Province Cricket Club’s Gavin Kaplan and Durbanville Cricket Club’s Onke Nyaku have also been named in the 15-man squad.
Seamer Beuran Hendricks will captain Western Province in the absence of wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne, who is with the Proteas for this month’s ODI series against India.
Western Province seamer Nandre Burger, batsman Tony de Zorzi and all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana are also with the Proteas.

“We’re looking forward to a good battle on the field. Our team is still looking really strong even though we have a few guys called up to the national set-up. We have a really good squad and we’re looking forward to seeing what the younger players can produce on the field,” said Moore.
“The team is in a good space coming off a really good win against the Titans. Hopefully we can take that momentum forward into this coming week.”
