Western Province Over-40 v Titans Over-40
Western Province Over-40 beat Titans Over-40 by nine wickets on day two of this week’s inter-provincial tournament at the Wanderers Cricket Club in Johannesburg.
Jaco Castle and Luke Knipe shared five wickets and Wayne Hendricks took two to limit Titans Over-40 to a final total of 145 all out in 40.4 overs. Sadiek Davids, Ryan Milne and Dan Styer took a wicket each, too.
Western Province Over-40’s reply of 147 for one in 30 overs was led by Werner Moolman and Derrin Bassage. Bassage and Moolman hit 69 not out and 51, respectively.
Lions Over-40 v Boland Over-40
Lions Over-40 beat Boland Over-40 by 10 wickets at Old Edwardians Cricket Club on Tuesday.
Garnett Kruger, Yasser Ditta and Johan Fourie took two wickets each for Lions Over-40, as Boland Over-40 were restricted to 140 for eight in 45 overs. Mark Nel top-scored for Boland Over-40 with 44 not out.
In reply, Lions Over-40 reached 141 without loss in 18.5 overs. Openers Brandon Buckley and Warren Dugmore struck 81 not out and 57 not out, respectively, for Lions Over-40.
East Rand Over-40 v Border Over-40
East Rand Over-40 beat Border Over-40 by eight wickets at Old Edwardians Cricket Club.
Mohammed Teladia took four wickets for East Rand Over-40 as Border Over-40 were limited to 111 all out in 38.1 overs. Ross Wilkie top-scored for Border Over-40 with 28.
In reply, East Rand Over-40 reached 112 for two in 14 overs. Kyle Smit hit 73 for East Rand Over-40.
Eastern Province Over-40 v Dolphins Over-40
Eastern Province Over-40 beat Dolphins Over-40 by two wickets at the Wanderers Cricket Club.
Charl Groenewald top-scored with 46 in Dolphins Over-40’s total of 221 for eight in 45 overs. Clint Jacobs took three wickets for Eastern Province Over-40.
Nathan Jones hit 46 and Charlton Assam 43 in Eastern Province Over-40’s reply of 222 for eight in 42.4 overs. Adhir Maharaj took three wickets for Dolphins Over-40.
What happened on day one at inter-provincial tournament?
All four matches on day one of the inaugural over-40 inter-provincial tournament were rained out on Monday. The matches have been reschedule for later this week.
