Western Province Veterans league grows to 24 teams

The 2024-25 Western Province Veterans Cricket Association league will start on Wednesday, 9 October.

The WPVCA league previously comprised 20 teams. Four new teams have been added. They are:

  • Rylands Cricket Club Veterans;
  • United Cricket Club Veterans;
  • Yorkshire Cricket Club Veterans; and
  • Milnerton Cricket Club Veterans

Primrose Cricket Club Veterans are the reigning WPVCA league title holders. They beat Brackenfell Cricket Club Veterans in last season’s final.

Previous WPVCA league champions

  • 2023-24: Primrose Cricket Club Veterans
  • 2022-23: Claremont Cricket Club Veterans
  • 2021-22: Montrose Cricket Club Veterans
  • 2020-21: Pinelands Cricket Club Veterans

Batsman Alwyn Williams, who was the leading run-scorer in the 2023-24 WPVCA league, has since moved from Wynberg Cricket Club Veterans to Cape Town Cricket Club Veterans.
