South Western Districts Women have appointed new head coach Wynand de Ridder ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.
De Ridder has succeeded former SWD Women head coach Martelize van der Merwe.
De Ridder has previously worked with Kenya and South Western Districts Colts.
“This appointment is recognition for the professional work ethic and dedication that Wynand has shown towards SWD and must be an inspiration for local coaches to advance via the pathway,” said SWD Cricket president Micheal Eksteen.
“Martelize coached our women’s team in exciting and challenging times and her contributions during the past three season will be recorded as one of the success stories in the advancement of women’s cricket in our annals.”
Titans Women, meanwhile, have appointed new head coach Pierre de Bruyn. He has succeeded former Titans Women head coach Mandla Mashimbyi.
“It’s a privilege to lead this team within a world-class Titans organisation with a proud legacy of excellence and success. As women’s cricket continues to grow on the global stage, we have the chance to lead with purpose – to set new standards and to inspire the next generation,” said de Bruyn.
“I’m excited to take on this challenge with passion and belief. To all the women and girls watching – there’s a place for you in this game. We’re just getting started, and the future is yours.”
Titans chief executive officer Jacques Faul added: “Pierre is someone who understands the Titans culture and what it takes to succeed. His work ethic, passion for the game, and proven track record make him the perfect fit for this role. We are excited to welcome him back and look forward to the impact he will make over the next two years.”
