Worcestershire have signed seamer Beyers Swanepoel for the 2026 County Championship in the United Kingdom.
Swanepoel plays for the Lions in division one of South African domestic cricket – and has represented South Africa A.
He has also played for Kent in England – and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20.
“I have always enjoyed my time playing in England, and particularly the longer format of the game, so to be offered the opportunity to continue my red-ball journey at Worcestershire was one I was very keen on exploring,” said Swanepoel.
“Championship cricket is tough, but joining a group full of potential and targeting promotion to division one is an exciting prospect. It is a club with really big ambitions, so I can’t wait to get started.”
Worcestershire head coach Alan Richardson added: “We are always looking to add to the quality within the group and by bringing in someone with the red-ball experience that Beyers possesses, we feel as though we have done just that.
“He is a very accomplished all-round cricketer and will certainly add to our options with both bat and ball in four-day cricket. Everyone at the club is looking forward to welcoming him to Worcestershire.”
