“The WPVCA are pleased to announce the list of players invited to attend the over-40 inter-provincial tournament trials. This list excludes players that had opted not to put themselves forward for trials,” read a statement from WPVCA chairperson Fuzlin Levy-Hassen.

“The WPVCA is currently in discussions with the Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa as to WPVCA interpretation of Cricket South Africa’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) policy.

“Depending on the outcome of these discussions, there might be additions to the list of players. Congratulations to the clubs and players.”

Nobody from Victoria Cricket Club, Rondebosch Cricket Club and Blue Bells Cricket Club have been included in the 44-player list.

Ottoman Cricket Club are represented the most with six trialists.

Western Province Over-40, who are the reigning champions, will participate in May 2025’s inter-provincial tournament in Port Elizabeth.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Werner Moolman – and all-rounders Adi Jackson and Jaco Castle – were in 2023’s WP Over-40 squad. They have been invited to next month’s trial.
