The Western Province Veterans Cricket Association have allowed the participation of Western Province Cricket Association premier league and first division A players for the 2023-24 season.

During the 2022-23 WPVCA season, WPCA premier league and first division A players were not allowed to participate.

This prevented, for example, Durbanville Cricket Club all-rounder Jaco Castle from playing in the WPCA premier league and WPVCA.

The rule change has since allowed Castle to participate in both leagues. Castle played for Durbanville Cricket Club against Rylands Cricket Club in the WPCA premier league last week. He has been named in Durbanville Cricket Club’s squad for this week’s WPCVA league fixture against Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Werner Moolman is allowed to play for Brackenfell Cricket Club in this season’s WPCA first division A and WPCA league.
