Women’s head coach Claire Terblanche was named Coach of the Year at the Western Province Cricket Association awards for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday.
Terblanche was appointed in 2018 and has coached Western Province Women to several titles since.
Numerous Western Province players have graduated to the Proteas Women under Terblanche’s coaching.
What Terblanche said
“It was a trying season, but with the focus on going beyond just winning and looking to dominate, our ladies proved that if you take care of developing the players skill, the result looks after itself,” said Terblanche.
“I’m very proud of each player’s contribution and achievement throughout the season. Onwards and upwards with a new, refreshed Western Province brand.
“If I can impart knowledge and knowhow onto the next coach, who is allowed to grow with me, there is nothing more I can ask for, but to create a space of learning, as I personally continue to learn and grow as a coach.”
