WPCA propose Bellville Cricket Club remain in premier league, Langa Cricket Club move to first division C

The Western Province Cricket Association have proposed Bellville Cricket Club remain in the premier league.

Bellville Cricket Club’s relegation to the first division A had been ratified at mid-June 2022’s WPCA members’ council meeting.

Bellville Cricket Club stated intention to contest the decision at the time.

Langa Cricket Club’s request to be moved from the premier league to the first division C, meanwhile, has effectively been approved.

Pinelands Cricket Club have provisionally retained first division A status. Their demotion to the first division B had also been ratified in June 2022.

“The WPCA are pleased to announce the proposed teams and leagues for the 2022-23 season. We humbly request that clubs review their teams in the respective leagues by midday, Tuesday, 27 September 2022,” said the WPCA.

“Upon the confirmation of draft teams and leagues by midday, Tuesday, 27 September 2022, the much-anticipated fixtures will be circulated early next week for all clubs’ perusal and comments.”
