WPCA second division batsman Carlo Verhoog hits 202 not out in 35-over innings

Wesbank Cricket Club batsman Carlo Verhoog hit a double-century in the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association second division recently.

Verhoog struck 202 not out in a final total of 317 for seven in 35 overs against Philippi Cricket Club. The WPCA second division usually comprises 45-over innings, but this one had been reduced by 10 due to extenuating circumstances.

Philippi Cricket Club replied with 70 all out for a 247-run defeat.

The WPCA second division is one tier lower than the first division D. Bergvliet Cricket Club and Nyanga Cricket Club were promoted from the second division to the first division D at the end of the 2021-22 season.
