Wynberg Cricket Club name new WPCA first division B head coach

Wynberg Cricket Club have appointed former Avendale Cricket Club coach Kyle Prince head coach ahead of the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division B.

Prince has succeeded former Wynberg Cricket Club head coach Marcus Oliphant, who resigned last month.

Effective 1 July 2023, Kyle joins us and brings with him a wide arrange of skills and experience,” read a statement from Wynberg Cricket Club chairman Donavon Koen.

“He is currently the director of cricket, sports administrator and head of physical education at Pinelands High School, where he coaches first team cricket as well.

“He was involved with coaching the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the Cape Premier League and has previously coached locally at Avendale Cricket Club.

“His coaching has taken him abroad to numerous clubs, namely Northwest Cricket Club, Foxlodge Cricket Club and Luctonians Cricket Club, where he served as a player-coach.

“We are really excited for the journey ahead and would like to encourage our members to embrace this change in personnel with us.

“We have no doubt that Kyle will fit in with us and quickly adapt to the Wynberg Cricket Club way.”

Wynberg Cricket Club were promoted to the 2023-24 WPCA first division B after winning the 2022-23 first division A. They are the reigning Ama20 Competition first division C champions.
