Batsman Sharn Gomes was named in Yorkshire Cricket Club’s XI for Saturday, 17 January 2026’s Western Province Cricket Association first division B fixture against Bonteheuwel Cricket Club.
This is Gomes’ Yorkshire Cricket Club debut. He joined in 2024 – and previously represented Milnerton Cricket Club, Montrose Cricket Club and others in WPCA club competition.
Gomes played 17 first-class fixtures for Western Province from 2012 to 2014 – and was capped 12 times in T20I cricket by Portugal from 2022 to 2025.
Other T20I cricketers have been involved in this season’s WPCA club cricket season, too, including Netherlands and Brackenfell Cricket Club’s Ryan Klein, Jersey and Durbanville Cricket Club’s Ben Ward and Cravenby Cricket Club and South Africa’s Beuran Hendricks.
