MI New York beat Los Angeles Knight Riders by 105 runs in this week’s Major League Cricket fixture at Grand Prairie Stadium.
Former Knights seamer Corne Dry took two wickets in MI New York’s final total of 155 for eight in 20 overs. Opener Dewald Brevis scored 18.
Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada took two wickets in Los Angeles Knights Riders of 50 all out in 13.5 overs.
“Happy with the result. Not happy with the performance, though,” said MI New York captain Kieron Pollard.
“Some of the guys are playing this level of cricket for the first time in franchise cricket. We need to give them time, but it is about understanding what needs to be done. You cannot win the game in the first six overs, but you can set it up.
“We cannot bask in the glory. We had a plan against the LAKR batters and it worked from the first over.”
