Old Edwardians Cricket Club’s Wihan Lubbe has been named the first Club Cricket SA Player of the Week for the 2018-19 season.
Lubbe struck a remarkable century in Sunday, 30 September’s Central Gauteng Lions T20 tournament fixture against Kagiso Cricket Club.
The hard-hitting Lubbe’s entertaining 121 not out spanned a mere 41 deliveries – and featured a dozen towering sixes.
The talented right-hander also struck a complementary 23 from 13 balls against Joburg Cricket Club on the same day.
Old Edwardians Cricket Club won both matches comfortably, setting an early precedent in pool C of the 24-team tournament.
