Ireland Over-40 beat England Over-40 in Wednesday’s fixture at Uxbridge Cricket Club in the United Kingdom.
Opener Kenny Carroll hit a century in Ireland Over-40’s total of 274 for six in the allotted 40 overs.
Carroll was supported by fellow former Ireland ODI cricketer John Anderson, who collected 71 from 78.
Carroll played six ODIs in 2007. Anderson played eight ODIs and four T20Is from 2014 to 2016.
Another former ODI cricketer – batsman Dominick Joyce – was also in Ireland Over-40’s XI on Wednesday.
England Over-40’s reply was limited to 221 for nine in 40 overs for a 53-run defeat.
Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens debuted for England Over-40 recently, but did not play this match.
The International Masters Crickets’ Over-40 World Cup is scheduled for March 2024 in South Africa.
The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association, meanwhile, plan to host an Over-40 World Cup, which hasn’t necessarily been formally sanctioned, in Karachi later this year.
