Reigning National Club Championship Player of the Tournament Neil Brand welcomed a Titans debut on Monday.
Brand was named in the Titans XI for this week’s key 4-Day Franchise Series fixture against the Cape Cobras at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The spinning all-rounder struck 309 runs at an average of 77.20 – and snared seven wickets – at the National Club Championship in Pretoria earlier this year. He was the captain of the title-winning University of Pretoria Cricket Club (Tuks) team, too.
Monday marked the 22-year-old Brand’s eighth first-class appearance – and first at franchise level. He had previously played first-class cricket for Northerns and Cardiff Marylebone Cricket Club University.
