Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was bought by the Punjab Kings at Saturday’s player auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League.
The Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans also bid for Rabada, but ultimately the Punjab Kings won with a price of INR 9.25 crore – the equivalent of approximately R18 million.

De Kock to Lucknow
Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was sold to the Lucknow Super Giants.
He was purchased for INR 6.75 crore – the equivalent of approximately R13 million. De Kock used to play for the Mumbai Indians.
Du Plessis to RCB
Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 7 crore – the approximate equivalent of R14 million. Du Plessis previously represented the Chennai Super Kings.
