“We will be addressing various issues at the WPCA members’ council meeting on Wednesday, 22 June 2022, regarding this sensitive issue.

“Rest assured that we will be taking a firm stance regarding the current promotion-relegation policy of WPCA.”

Bellville Cricket Club relegation

Bellville Cricket Club’s first XI finished in 10th position in the 2021-22 WPCA premier league, which effectively comprised 11 teams.

The WPCA premier league traditionally includes 12 teams, but Langa Cricket Club had been suspended during the 2021-22 season.

That suspension was lifted prior to the last match of the 2021-22 season. Historically, the two teams that finish at the bottom of the premier league standings get relegated.
