Northern Cape wicketkeeper-batsman returns to division 1 team

Batsman Modiri Litheko has left Northern Cape ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in South Africa.

Litheko was Northern Cape’s highest run-scorer in the 2024-25 One-Day Cup, division two, and T20 Knockout.

Litheko has joined the Warriors in division one. Before moving to Northern Cape in division two, Litheko was with the Titans in division one.

The Warriors have also signed seamers Gideon Peters and Kerwin Mungroo from North West, seamer Aphiwe Mnyanda from Border and spinner Thomas Kaber from South Western Districts.

Head coach Robin Peterson and assistant coach Mark Charlton have been retained – and seamer CJ King’s contract has been upgraded.

Seamers Alfred Mothoa and Renaldo Meyer, all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel and batsman Diego Rosier have left the Warriors. Mothoa, Meyer and Swanepoel have joined North West, the Tuskers and Lions, respectively. Rosier has also joined North West.
